This year the club will be testing out one style of Black Rocket tires while another club tests another style. Results will be compared at the end of the season. Your safest bet would be to find a set of Menards for now as they are still the spec tire. However, if you prefer to try out and help us test a set of Black Rockets or a set of Dmacks as long as other racers in your class don't object to you running these new tires then we will allow it since we are trying to find a substitute for Mernards. Last year nobody had an issue. I'll leave it up to the competition director to chime in with the final answer.
For reference, the BR 41 is offered in 13" size only, the BR 50 in 14", 15" and 16", and the BR 110 in 13", 14", 15" and 16" sizes.

What were the results?
What other tire was tested?

The tire test is an ongoing process for this year. We have a base line for speed, however this is only a number. We are comparing ice consumption and tire durability. The club will not endorse the use of BR tires for this season as there are too many variables to be considered and we are already noticing the tire degrading after only two race days of use. The more laps we get on them for the endurance testing the better and we can make a sound decision for next season. The stud count maybe reduced as we are testing fully loaded tires at 57 studs per foot versus Menards at 28 studs, however both tires were engineered with completely different studs - stainless steel versus the BR stud which is closure to a street type application. Tire pattern and compound is also very different. According to one of the members these tires were also tested in Edmonton and did not perform well. But we do not know what compound, tire pattern or the stud count they tested. We will be contacting them for additional input. As per the earlier response, look for some used or new Menards there are some tires still out there in good racing shape.

So far I've sheared one Menards tire clean (from the gummy generation I'm told) and blew out another. Nobody is particularly interested in sharing their supply and if were them I'd feel the same too.

Did you pull out a bunch of studs or did the rubber leave? I have a couple beat up Menard's I could let go, not very good condition though. Don Goodfellow has some he is looking to sell.

Studs were almost gone to begin with, and the rubber left. I guess it becomes exponentially harder to keep studs in.
I'm restudding bald ones at this point.
