Just joined the TBAC and will get down to the track this weekend on Sat+Sun to meet some of the members and generally help out where I can. I used to do track days many moons ago in the UK in a Caterham 7 SuperSprint. Have zero ice-time (apart from sliding off Dog Lake Rd sideways yesterday ). I thought I'd start by offering help to the Club or to any driver / team who could use some extra help in the pit / car prep / or general assistance for the rest of the current season. Any help is free but your advice, basic training, instruction or maybe some practice time at the wheel is appreciated (will pay for fuel). If it works out, the plan is to buy and prep a suitable car during the Summer and enter as a competitor in the 2010/11 season. So, if the club or anyone could use a spare pair of hands this weekend, send me an e-mail or call Philip on 628-9656 over the weekend. Many thanks!

Welcome and dress warm! Always great to see new people entering the ice race scene. I think you will find more then enough people willing to help get you in a car and on track for next season.

Hello Philip welcome, just to correct you're days, we race only on Sundays, except for Feb 20th & 21st. Also we have no racing next weekend (31t) , as we take a day off for those guys to venture to the USA for the IIRA races.
You will find that we are a very helpful group, so don't hesitate to ask questions. We have our general meetings the first Wed of every month until May. Held at the Da vinci centre @ 7pm.
regards, John Sacek President - TBAC

I have just one question, at the races are we aloud to come down on the ice and talk to the drivers and ask about their cars?

Thanks for the feedback Don, Doug, John. I'll see you on 24th.
What time do the organisers / volunteers usually get out to the circuit?
All the best,
Philip

People are encouraged to come and check out the cars and talk to the drivers of the cars. The membership of this club has a wealth of knowledge and are usually more than helpful trying to get a new competitor up and running!!
and Phillip... practice starts at 10, so most of the volunteers are at the track by then..See You Sunday!!

Welcome to the club Philip. Watch out this stuff is highly addictive. The club is always looking for voluteers to help run the day. Make sure to stop the burgandy Astro van with flashing lights and talk to Peter. Hope to see you guys out there on Sunday.
