I was just wondering if there is going to be any posting on the new studded tires about any of the specs. If this could be posted that would be great for everyone then they can start searching for tires and start building them. Thank you and sorry I couldn't make the meeting would have like to be there.

The rules committee is going to review the new rule about studded tires and the studs. No decision has been made yet.
As well, Cory may have a manufacturer that will make studs similar to the current ones such that you could run the same count as the current tires. This would allow the transition to be smooth from left overs to new tires and not be as aggressive on the track.

Hmmm, ...I thought you guys where still running Menard tires, We are still running them down here in Minden, and the availability still seems good.
Any news on the Menard sale or move ??

We are using the Menards, for now. Potentially both Menards and owner built tires. We will be testing this season to determine ice damage, traction and viability of the owner built tires which at this point seem to offer a significant savings in cost and potentially a much longer life.
All up in the air right now and testing will bring to light how it all works out.

So no update yet? ... We'll be heading into our third weekend with no probs with the Menards ... Slightly smaller class this year. But our street stud class has grown by leaps and bounds ... so much so that we added a second driver class to the schedule ...

Well hupe is on the tire development and we are hoping he comes up with a rock solid tire SOON. Can you tell us more about your street stud class.Do you have pictures?have you compared your street studs against a blizzack? How are the studs staying in?these were a couple of problems we had when we tried them. The blizzacks were faster so we tried longer studs for extra bite.they rip out fast so we glued them in. then we rip the rubber off when the stud went.

Well, we have been running SS tires since 2005. At first they were gluing them in till last season when the supplier said that it was screwing up his stud gun and the labor costs were getting higher. One pair of tires is not lasting too long on our short track, about two weekends of full racing. We are using a Hankook tire that seems to be the best for durability.
As for your homebuilt tires, I wish I could post a pic of the last ones I ran in 98, they are still holding air!
Whats the latest on menards?
