Just a note to thank the organizers, the volunteers and officials for this weekends racing , it was a blast and well run. Thanks to my crew ( and Barb for understanding) for readjusting the new tires saturday evening when you could have been out doing other things, without them I couldn't have taken the checkered flag, and my car she gave her all and the engine threw an apex seal AFTER the checkered flag!!!

so far using a carlisle sport trail bias ply tire is working but the lug erosion is still happening, but we're looking still trying to find a very hard tire to try to counteract it. Tyler is the last comment directed at hupe tire specifically or the studded tires in general because I couldn't see a specific place where my tires made marks that were different from menards except in the pits where I pitted. Just a question is all ?

It's been such a mild winter erosion is bound to be a problem.

Don: I have watched alot of racing for the inside track this past season, And I have spent lots of time on the track for maintenance the past few years.. And I have never seen track damage like this before.. I can clearly see the wear profile between the MF1 and the Menards bower stud pattern. Could all this ice damage be dew to the worm weather conditions... Maybe??? or is it because the MF1 style stud is to aggressive?? possibly .... All I know is that your car was pulling faster lap times than Ed..
But that's just my 0.02

the tires I used in practice sat morning were adjusted sat night and we put them below the green block so they didn't touch it because we tried to anticipate the swell of the tire when air was put in. we checked after they were mounted and aired up and they didn't expand as much as expected. We had Peter check the tires before we put them on on Sunday morning and after the sprint just to be sure. I'm inclined to believe the warm weather isn't, helping our cause with track wear more than the tires are damaging it, while going around the track the wear was pretty even over the whole surface and I can't be everywhere in 8 laps.

Not to step onanyones toes here but I will say that are studded count has been the highest its been in years, plus it has been the warmest season i have seen in 10 years. So put that all together and bam there goes the track.
One other thing....hupe for the love of the sport can you please put some MF1 spec tires on the front, 3/16 high, you know what I mean. At the begining of the season the club gave you a bit now can you please give some back. I know you have them, and I know your a club friendly person.

Moving the track would be the best bet. The question is how hard is that going to be?
