Hi, Does anyone have images of your homemade tires? I don't understand what you mean by 1/8 protrusion. I understand protrusion but... Over what? Above a full tread tire? Above the nut? Above the washer?
A Pryme tire has a protrusion of 3/16 ? Correct? Black Rockets protrude 3/16.
If someone can clarify please. Here's my email so we don't plug up this site with a bunch of unnecessary pics unless you want.

Thank you in advance!

Al, the home made studded tire must have the head of the stud stick out of the surface of the tread by no more than 3/16 of an inch after it is raced. A motorcycle stud referred to the MF1 developed by Marcel Fornier for motorcycle tires. Our rule was written with a 1/8 build height 3/16 run height after the race because the committee thought the home built tire rubber might erode with use.

Tire I built and ran last season. I used weld nuts on the inside which pulled the stud down into the rubber but shimmed with washers to get the correct height.
