Hello, no the club does not deal with any specific dealer, you are free to purchase any rubber to ice tire as listed in our rules, as far as studded tires, perhaps one of our would sell a used pair, for new Black Rockets would be the ones some guys are using, from out of town company.

[font size="4"]Hi everyone, in a conversation with Rick Simpson, here is what they are looking at for our cars for next season.
Their plan over the next 2 –3 years is to have a hornet class (name to be changed), fazed in based on the Wissota rules.
Present ice racers will be allowed to run as the cars are constructed now, with suspension, motor mods, cams, v-tec, etc. *Newly built ice race cars will be allowed to compete as well
Starting next season and moving forward here is what the rules will be:
- No glass, plastic lights, this includes windshields. - Lexan allowed but not on side drivers or passenger doors - Front and rear wheel drive only, no hoosiers, stock tires only. - Front doors to be chained or bolted shut - Transponders - Raceivers.. (cost will be posted on their FB page)
*SIDE NOTE: The reason for no hoosiers is to make it fair for everyone, especially the new people coming in as they want this class to be a starting block for new drivers young and old and be cost effective to starting out.

Hello everyone,
Since Covid prevented us from having our winter season, it also effected the memberships that are usually purchased, and as a result we weren't able to hold our usual nominations, and elections, not to mention the restrictions on inside gatherings.
The present executive has agreed to stay in the current positions for 2021, we will try to hold nominations, and elections in late fall for the 2021-2022 season.
We will be having discussions on the auto x season soon, and tentatively planning dates, and confirming locations in the hopes that our colour code drops down to "orange" to hold this event.
Stay tuned as more information becomes available.

Hi everyone, due to the recent announcement from the Ford government regarding extending the stay at home order and the uncertainty of what colour code we would fall under after that, the exc. has voted to cancel the season.
We look forward to hopefully running our summer program, and to the 2022 ice season.
Stay safe.
thank you
John

Todays news release of a extended Covid-19 Lock Down to January 23, has placed the micro Ice Racing series in jeopardy of cancellation. The Directors have decided to continue to monitor the situation. If the Thunder Bay District improves to “Orange” and the weather has not played a negative factor on the ice we will activate the series. The series will have several Covid-19 restrictions the main change is that it will not be open to the general public. If and when the situation improves additional information will be released to the membership on the complete Covid19 restrictions, memberships applications etc. The club did complete all approval gates with the Thunder Bay District Health Unit along with the Port Authority. Gary and Todd have been checking the ice at Mission Bay and conditions currently are in good shape, but we are not yet at acceptable ice thickness to plow a track. (we should be there in another week or two) The Directors hope that Covid-19 numbers in Thunder Bay improve and that we can reach the Orange Level and have some door to door fun! Please see the following updates:
1. Due to Covid 19 December and January’s General Membership meeting are cancelled
2. The Board of Directors have been working through the challenges of Covid-19 and the Ice Racing environment for 2021.
3. The Board would like to inform the members that due to restrictions of Covid-19 imposed on the club by CASC Canada we will not be able to conduct ice racing or any event with the general public in attendance. The club will only have the option to conduct “CLOSED” Events - members only.
4. The closed event business model limits the number of ice racing events the club can conduct. The Directors have reviewed the budget and are pleased to announce that we may be able to conduct four race days based on two double day weekends.
5. In the first week of December the club will be submitting our operational plan and proposed schedule to the Thunder Bay District Health Unit for Covid-19 risk and mitigation approval. If this document is accepted the next approval gate will be with the Thunder Bay Port Authority.
6. The club has moved ahead with the site preparations of Mission Bay, and plow trucks are in town for annual servicing.
7. It is the intend of the Directors of this club to try and conduct a limited fun ice racing series, however it is not in our control of what additional restrictions the Ford Government may release in the coming weeks. The club will continue to post updates on our efforts to secure approvals, and if successful we will release the communication on the next steps such as purchase of memberships, Covid-19 Guidelines and gate fee.

Thunder Bay Autosport Club members,
Half-Way Motors is, as you know, a headline sponsor of the TBAC Autocross series, and a major sponsor of Our Kids Count, providing much assistance to the annual RIBFEST fundraiser.
This year RIBFEST is on, but under a very different format. It will be a "Drive Thru" event supplying Thunder Bay with the same excellent food from the Ribbers, and funds to Our Kids Count.
I am looking for some volunteers thru the Thunder Bay Autosport Club to show our support of our Sponsor Half-Way Motors, and of our community in general.
I have booked 2 volunteer slots requiring 6 people for each slot at a commitment of 3 hours. The slots booked are as follows:
Saturday August 29th from 2pm - 5pm And Saturday August 29th from 5pm- 8pm
Our volunteers will be asked to direct traffic into the CLE grounds, thru the order and pickup lines, and then off of the CLE grounds.
The venue is completely outdoors, and social distancing will be enforced. There will be NO physical contact between our volunteers and any other attendee's. Any and all required equipment, such as safety vests, and flags, will be provided. Face masks and gloves will be available upon request and sanitizing stations will be on site.
As a social distancing, outdoor event, face coverings are not mandatory, but if you wish to wear a mask, it is an acceptable choice.
As the event gets closer, any and all changes to this protocol will be made in the interest of the safety of our volunteers, participants, customers, and our community.
If you wish to volunteer and to bring out your spouse/other, that would be greatly appreciated. Ie: 3 couples = 6 people fills 1 slot!
Please supply your name(s) and contact number(s) to Brad Folino at Half-Way Motors. If you can supply your info by the end of this week (July 31st) or early next week (August 4th), that will help in the coordinating of the many volunteers it takes to put on an event such as this.
Submit to brad.folino@halfwaymotors.com
